I have run ex22.py in my shell and get a gibberish output. I did make sure UTF-8 was active on my win11 machine

Actually that looks right. On the left is the "internal python representation" of the ext, and on the right is the actual text rendered for that language. If you were to run this in cmd.exe though it would probably break.
